The remnants of Storm Jonas are headed for the UK, meaning that the west of Scotland is on alert for flooding. Residents of Scotland are being warned to brace themselves for more floods as Storm Jonas brings with it heavy rains and gale force winds.
The most exposed up-land parts of south-west Scotland could see 150-200mm of rain, while many parts of the warning area are forecast to receive 50-100mm of rain. There is also expected to be standing water left on roads, as well as strong south westerly winds.
Several trees have been blown over in Ayrshire and 40 flood warnings have been issued where flooding is to be expected. Winds of up to 70mph are to be expected across Scotland, with previously flooded areas warned to expect further flooding in their area.
